The Sovtek 12AX7WC valve has very low mIcrophonics and hum and is world-renowned for its smooth, round tone.
This ultra “low microphonic” tube is used by Fender®, Ampeg, Carvin, and Hartke, among others. It can effortless replace the ECC83. Fender use this version of the durable Sovtek family and re-brand them as the Fender Groove Tubes 12AX7

“When I put this tube in the tone and gain stage slot (v1) of my Blues Jr III Limited it immediately got rid of the slight treble harshness caused by the GT 12ax7-R that was there before. I believe GT-12ax7-R’s are Sovtek 12ax7WA’s, so at this point I’m liking the WC’s more. The WC is supposed to be a higher gain tube than the WA but my amp sounds pretty much just as clean as it was, just minus the aforementioned slight treble harshness.
I also ended up trying a JJ ecc83 and thought that it took the amp in a noticeable step away from the Fender cleans direction.”
