Folks find that their amps which use 6V6S valves find that they can hear them rattle. When they play specific notes the valves really rattle. I see reports of Fender Re-Issue Princetons and Deluxe Reverbs having thie rattling 6V6’s sfter use. This rattling sound does not come through the speaker but it is actually the mechanical parts inside the tube which you can hear. The tube internals resonate when you play and it is a specific frequency.
As it is acoustic, rattling this effect can be mostly heard i in quieter settings such as n a studio or when playing at home For some reasonn the 6V6 is particularly prone to this rattling.
JJ Elctronic now has a 6V6 version availabele which has tow spacers at the top of the tube. This is to minimise this rattling. This new version is called the JJ 6V6S/DM. In the picture below you can see the double s spacer at the top of the valve
You might be wondering why “DM”? DM means Double Mica. Spacers inside the tube used to be made from a material called Mica. It is very carcenogenic so nowadays ceramic materials are used.
We now have these DM versions in stock now. You can select this version on the options list in our shop . You can click on this link to see them.
