Selecting your rectifier tube

Silver and Blackface hand-wired amps used the 5U4GB. The reissue versions made on PCB tend to use the GZ34. You may also want to consider using a plug-and-play TAD Solid State rectifier which will fit all models. Please choose the rectifier option to match your model.

We test each valve at real amp voltages on our suite of vintage, modern, and custom-built valve testers. Includes a test certificate showing the valve test results.

Safety

Please make sure your amp's bias is set correctly. If not, you could hamper your tone and even limit the life of the output valves. Also note that valve amps can retain high voltages even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting your valves, please seek the services of qualified personnel.
