EH 12DW7 Premium Tested ( ECC832)
The EH 12DW7 triode is two triodes but one has a gain of 100 and the other half a gain of 20. Â This is exactly the same valve as the ECC832
Think of it as half an ECC83 (12AX7) and half an ECC82 (12AU7). The Electro Harmonix 12DW7 triode valve is certainly an interesting valve for experimenting with, especially if you want a clean sounding amp. It can lower the gain in amps, opening the door to some interesting sound modifications. Many Peavey and Ampeg amps take advantage of this unique valve.
Also known as the ECC832. Made in Russia. As this valve has two different gain stages, it can’t be matched/balanced for phase splitting duty.
