Product Description
The JJ EZ81 rectifier valve is used in several smaller amps and audio systm of the 1960’s. The USA part number is the 6CA4.
Valve rectifiers are characterised by the ” sag” that they introduce which is a bit like compression. The result is a better sustaining note at the same volume as an amp with solid state power supply rectification. EZ81’s do give a better sound!.
We also offer a 120 day from purchase warranty on the product ( excludes mechanical damage failure). Every unit is fully tested by us on our analogue valve testers to ensure perfect operation before shipping.
The JJ EZ81 Rectifier valve is the better alternative to replacing your old EZ81 with solid state rectifiers. Old valve rectifiers eventually loose emission and the result is higher internal impedance. It can result in a lower voltage especially on the output stage. The result is the sound is less clean at higher volumes or can result in lower output watts from your amp. We recommend changing your rectifier every couple of years or when you change the output valves. You can keep the old one as a spare for emergencies.

We fully test all our rectifiers on our Avo and Taylor testers
Note: Valves use high voltages and these voltages are dangerous. The amp can still retain these high voltages for some time even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting them , please seek the services of qualified personnel
