The Sovtek 12AX7WC valve has very low microphonics and hum and is world-renowned for its smooth, round tone.
Many top manufacturers use the 12AX7WC in their amps, including Fender, Ampeg, Carvin, Hartke, and more. A great replacement for any standard ECC83. Fender rebrands this very valve as the “Fender Groove Tubes 12AX7.”
The 12AX7WC has a spiral wound heater for low AC heater mains hum.
We fully test each valve at real amp voltages on our AVO and custom-built testers. Comes with a test certificate.
Includes a 180 day warranty.
Here is a review from a customer who used the Sovtek 12AX7WC in his Fender Blues Jr.
When I put this tube in the tone and gain stage slot (v1) of my Blues Jr III Limited, it immediately got rid of the slight treble harshness caused by the GT 12ax7-R that was there before. I believe GT-12ax7-Rs are Sovtek 12ax7WAs, so at this point I’m liking the WCs more. The WC is supposed to be a higher gain tube than the WA, but my amp sounds pretty much just as clean as it was, just minus the aforementioned slight treble harshness.
I also ended up trying a JJ ECC83 and thought it took the amp a noticeable step away from the Fender cleans direction.
