EHX Valve Factory Video – see how your valves are made

I thought you might like to see how your valves are made in the EHX Valve Factory.
This is a video of the Electro-Harmonix  ( EHX) valve (tube) factory in Saratov in Russia. This factory originally made the valves for the Russian military.
EHX claims this is the largest remaining tube factory in the world.  I believe it to be one of the largest.
When you watch this video, you will see there is a lot of very skilled manual work in putting a valve together.
It is nothing like the modern “chip” business. This is good old metal bashing and glass blowing.  You can understand why there is variation from valve to valve with all the different tolerances on the individual parts. The manufacturing processes have not changed in decades. The only difference is no longer using materials that are dangerous to the environment or to humans!
This factory makes a whole range of brands and not all them are allowed to be sold in Europe.  EHX, Genalex, Tung Sol and Sovtek are allowed to be sold in the UK and we are official dealers for these brands
