We have just added the JJ 5Y3S to our expanding range of valve full wave rectifiers. You can now find the right rectifier for just about any guitar and bass amp ever made since the 1950’s !
It is used in amps such as the Fender Champ and most of the early Fender Tweed style amps.
examples are the Tweed -Princetons, Harvard. In these amps do not be tempted to use NOS ( New Old Stock) metal jacketed 5Y3’s as they are are not to as high a specification as glass jacketed valves like those from JJ.
Stick to glass 5Y3’s and the 5Y3S Full Wave Rectifier Valve from JJ Electronics will work extemely well in all of these amplifiers.
We now offer the following valve full wave rectifiers ( you can click on each part number for more info on buying them) :
- 5Y3S used in smaller amps such as the original fender Champ, Fender original Tweed amps
- EZ81 has been used in many small amps
- GZ34 ( 5AR4). Used in many British amps
- 5U4G Very commonly used in Fender amps although one or two used the 5AR4 ( Gz34)
