With the TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE Premium matched valves, we have succeeded in combining the tonal characteristics of an NOS 6V6GT, such as from RCA or GE, with the current requirements of modern amps. It is a heavy duty 6V6GT valve, which can handle a higher plate voltage than regular 6V6GT valves.
The TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE premium matched valve shines with the typical NOS “sweet top end” and a strikingly dense and complex midrange. With this midrange characteristic, they achieve a liveliness in tone that only NOS 6V6GT valves achieve, and otherwise remain unmatched. Even when pushed into saturation, there are no harsh upper mids, which is frequently the case with other 6V6s. Just sweet full-bodied tone with silky highs.
