The JJ 6V6S is a superb choice for popular Fender amps like the Deluxe Reverb, Princeton, 5E3 designs, and Champ. Designed to operate at higher voltages than any other brand of 6V6, making them ideal for amps like the Tone King Imperial, which runs at higher voltages than most 6V6-based amps.
At our shop, we put each JJ 6V6S through rigorous testing using our custom output valve tester. tests done at 430 volts which is typical of many amp plate volts and acoustically tested too.
This is in addition to standard factory testing.
JJ introduced the DM version which is double Mica. This refers to extra supports inside the valve to miminmise acoustic resonance of the plates inside the valve. The 6V6 typ of valve is used in smaller wattage amps by home users and in a studio. It is very important that no valve noises are heard in these settings. The DM version is the best solution.
Available in the following options:
- Single – One valve, tested and labeled with its anode current and Gm
- Matched Pair – A hand-matched pair with a certificate showing the test and matching results
- Matched Quad – Two hand-matched pairs with a certificate showing the test and matching results
- DM Single valve – A ruggedised version with double mica spacers minimises acoustic rattles in smaller wattage amps used in studio and home.
- DM – Matched Pair – A ruggedised version with double mica spacers minimises acoustic rattles in smaller wattage amps used in studio and home. Matched with test certificate.
- DM – Matched Quad – A ruggedised version with double mica spacers minimises acoustic rattles in smaller wattage amps used in studio and home.Matched with test certificate.
The double mica spacers provide additional stability and reduce the vibrations that affect the tube and therefore reduce potential rattling. This reduces vibrations and rattling that affect the tube, making it ideal for combo amplifiers.
