Sovtek 6L6WXT+ Matched Pair
Note that this is the Sovtek 6L6WXT+ Matched Pair the best selection of this model
The Matched Pair are solidly constructed and the W denotes the ruggedised construction that is used in this top quality valve This improves their lifespan and reliability in service.
We stock the “+” version because we have had excellent reports on not only the overall sound and also the power output in a nominal 40 watt amp goes up to almost 60 watts !
How do they sound? The honest answer is that Fender’s Groove Tubes 6L6’s* are actually this valve re-branded. They give and amp that distinctive warm rich sound and they break up in a very controlled fashion.
The Sovtek 6L6WXT+ features larger plate dimensions and improved grid structure for increased power handling capabilities. It also features mica spacers with metal springs to eliminate tube rattle and microphonics. Sovtek claims it has 20 percent higher output than the Sovtek 5881WXT.
This is not a repackaged 5881 valve. Extremely low noise and a lack of microphonics combine with excellent ratings for detail and harmonic content to provide a tube of exceptional quality. These valves can be used in any application. Plenty of power and great tone. These valves have been tested with plate voltages ranging from 425 to 500 volts without problem. Biasing can be set from conservative to hot; again, no real problem and great tone will be delivered from most settings.”
As these are high power valves it is strongly recommended that the bias is checked when inserting in your amp.The valve life can be severely reduced if the bias is not set correctly.
They are factory matched and further tested and matching is refined by us. We issue a test certificate with each set which shows the matching. . Product is manufactured by Sovtek in the Russian Federation. we also cover these with our class leading 180 day warranty
