The Sovtek 5881WXT is a solid valve, offered here as a matched quad. The “W “denotes the ruggedised construction used in this top-quality valve, improving lifespan and reliability. They give your amp that distinctive warm, rich sound, and break up in a very controlled fashion. The Sovtek 5881WXT matched quad features larger plate dimensions and improved grid structure for increased power handling capability, and mica spacers with metal springs to eliminate tube rattle and microphonics. With extremely low-noise, a lack of microphonics, exquisite detail and rich harmonic content, this is a valve of exceptional quality.
Compatible in any 5881 application. Plenty of power and great tone. Can handle a wide range of biasing, from conservative to hot, delivering great tone with almost any setting. However, as these are high-power valves, we strongly recommended setting the bias when installing them in your amp. Incorrect bias can greatly reduce valve life.
Your valves are factory matched and further tested, and then fully retested and checked in-house here at VTGA. We test with real amp voltages, and issue a test certificate with each set.
Sovtek manufactures all their valves at their factory in Russia. You will receive four matched valves.
