The Sovtek 5881WXT is a solid valve, offered here as a matched quad. The “W “denotes the ruggedised construction used in this top-quality valve, improving lifespan and reliability.
They give your amp that distinctive warm and rich sound, and break up in a very controlled fashion.
The Sovtek 5881WXT matched quad features larger plate dimensions and improved grid structure for increased power handling capability. It also features mica spacers with metal springs to eliminate tube rattle and microphonics.
Extremely low-noise and a lack of microphonics combine with excellent ratings for exquisite detail and rich harmonic content for a valve of exceptional quality. Compatible in any 5881 application. Plenty of power and great tone. We’ve tested these tubes with plate voltages ranging from 425 to 500 volts without a problem. Can handle a wide range of biasing, from conservative to hot, delivering great tone with almost any setting.
As these are high-power valves, we strongly recommended setting the bias when installing them in your amp. Incorrect bias can greatly reduce valve life.
Your valves are factory matched and further tested, and then fully retested and checked in-house here at VTGA. We test with real amp voltages, and issue a test certificate with each set.
Sovtek manufactures all their valves at their factory in Russia. You will receive four matched valves and our class leading 180 day warranty.
Note: Valves use high voltages and these voltages are dangerous. The amp can still retain these high voltages for some time, even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting them, please seek the services of qualified personnel.
