The JJ EF806S valve is a brand new replacement for the famous EF86 from the 1950s and ’60s. JJ Electronic designed the EF806S as a low noise, low microphonics version of the original EF86. The US number for the EF806S Audio Pentode is 6291.

Description

This high gain pentode produces a unique sound when overdriven. Vox amps used the original EF86 to help get their mojo. The sound from an overdriven EF86 has to be heard to be believed.

You can now save yourself a lot of money on buying NOS EF86 valves and grab a brand new JJ version.

Please make sure your amp's bias is set correctly. If not, you could hamper your tone and even limit the life of the output valves. Also note that valve amps can retain high voltages even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting your valves, please seek the services of qualified personnel.
