The EH 12AY7 from EHX, also known as the 6072A, appears in many vintage amps. A good deal of early Fender Tweed amps use a 12AY7 as the first valve in the preamp. A medium-gain, double triode preamp valve. Tested in-house in addition to factory testing.

Pin compatible with the ECC83 (12AX7), but with lower gain. Used in a good deal of early Fender Tweed amps as the first preamp stage (V1 valve position). Many harmonica players favour this valve in the V1 position.

Please make sure your amp's bias is set correctly. If not, you could hamper your tone and even limit the life of the output valves. Also note that valve amps can retain high voltages even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting your valves, please seek the services of qualified personnel.
