JJ ECC823 Premium Tested (A Reversed ECC832/12DW7)
The JJ ECC832 has two triodes but one has a gain of 100 and the other half a gain of 20. Â This valve is a mirror image of the ECC832/12DW7, with the triode 1 and 2 connections reversed.
Think of it as half an ECC83 (12AX7) and half an ECC82 (12AU7). The JJ ECC823 premium tested  is certainly an interesting valve for experimenting with, especially if you want a clean sounding amp. It can lower the gain in amps, opening the door to some interesting sound modifications. Many Peavey and Ampeg amps take advantage of this unique valve.
Made in Slovakia. As this valve has two different gain stages, it can’t be matched/balanced for phase splitting duty.
We test all the valves at real amp voltages on our suite of vintage, modern, and custom-built valve testers. We audio check your valve for microphonics and noise.
The data sheet below is for the ECC832. Performance is identical except that you need swap over the cathode, grid and anode pins to be triode 1 ==> triode 2 and triode 2==> triode 1
Includes our class-leading 180 day warranty.
