Sovtek 12AX7LPS Long Plate Preamp Valve

Sovtek 12AX7LPS is a long plated version of the 12AX7/ECC83, favoured by many amp manufacturers for its smooth, rich tone. Not recommended for the V1 position in combo amps because long plate 12AX7/ECC83S types are more prone to microphonics. We also have a balanced option for phase splitter applications. Tested in-house.

The Sovtek 12AX7LPS Long Plate is a brilliant choice for a smooth tone. Perfect for blues and jazz. Most often used as a phase splitter, but can serve other positions as well. Just be cautious about using it in the V1 position in combo amps since long plate valves are more sensitive to microphonics. Yet that said, we thoroughly test each valve for noise and microphonics.

You have the option to choose between premium tested valves with labeled anode currents or balanced valves with matched triodes and test certificates included.

Please make sure your amp's bias is set correctly. If not, you could hamper your tone and even limit the life of the output valves. Also note that valve amps can retain high voltages even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting your valves, please seek the services of qualified personnel.
