This Fender Blues Jr valve kit uses exactly the same valves as originally fitted in this iconic amp with three Sovtek 12AX7WAs and two matched Sovtek EL84s. This kit ensures your Fender Blues Jr sounds exactly as Fender intended when it left the factory.

The original valves were branded “Groove Tubes”, but were actually these models of Sovtek valves printed with the Groove Tubes logo.

We use state-of-the-art valve testers and over 40 years of industry expertise to test and match your valves to ensure optimum performance and superb tone. We supply a test certificate showing the matching and test results.

This Fender Blues Junior valve kit, with ruggesised EL84Ms from Sovtek, uses exactly the same valves originally fitted to this iconic amp. The EL84M can withstand more vibration than standard EL84s, and has slightly higher output power. They last a lot longer.

  • 3x Sovtek 12AX7WA (Fender actually designed the Blues Jr for medium gain Russian 12AX7WAs.)
  • 2x Sovtek EL84M (as a matched pair)

Sovtek produces their valves in the world’s largest remaining valve factory. Many amp manufacturers favour Sovtek valves for their tonal qualities and reliability. Sovtek tests their valves under US Dept. of Defense Mil Std 133 Revision D. We then retest them here at VTGA on our suite of AVO and custom-built testers to ensure maximum quality. You can’t buy a more reliable valve.

We offer EHX, JJ Electronic, Genalex, Sovtek and Tung Sol valves and can assemble bespoke kits for your amp.

★ Safety

Please make sure your amp's bias is set correctly. If not, you could hamper your tone and even limit the life of the output valves. Also note that valve amps can retain high voltages even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting your valves, please seek the services of qualified personnel.
