The EL34 II has much better tonal qualities with richer mid and low end tones as compared to the thin sounding standard EL34.One of the ECC83S’s and the EL34’s ae hand tested and matched. . The standard JJ EL34 has a reputation for sounding thin and JJ made the EL34 II to address this tone issue. Used in 100 watt amplifiers such as the Marshall DSL100.
