Sovtek EL84M series valves are ideal for musical instrument amps where a clean sound is desired, and are the best choice for hi-fi amps because of their low distortion. They can withstand much higher voltages and power compared to a standard EL84 and will be more durable. The EL84M is a suitable replacement for the RCA 7189 as well.
