The Sovtek 2A3 is a high quality tube at an affordable price. Vacuum Tube Valley says, “…the Sovtek 2A3 had a huge, clear soundstage with sweet, detailed highs.” They also noted excellent midrange imaging, and overall tonal balance.
We rarely have these in stock and some suppliers claim they are obsolete. Our stock is effectively NOS as they were made around 2014.
We have tested each unit on our AVO CT160 tester and carefully measured the anode current and Gm of each valve so that they are matched to within +/-5%.
These are very large triodes so they take around 20 minutesd to totally stabilise. Please keep this in mind if your amp does not have cathode (auto) bias. and you need to make adjustments.
We supply a test certiicate for each pair showing the test results with 250 volts on the anode, 2.5 volt heater and – 40 volts bias.
The Sovtek 2A3 is one of the best value in direct heated triodes today. It compares very favorably to NOS 2A3 tubes, has excellent construction and sonics.
