This is the robustly constructed Sovtek EL84M Matched Quad. The super low-noise Sovtek EL84M is ideal for musicians looking for a cleaner sound from their amps and more headroom. A magnificent choice for hi-fi amps because of their low distortion. They can withstand much higher voltages and power dissipation compared to standard EL84s, and are more durable.

The super low-noise Sovtek EL84M is ideal for musicians looking for a cleaner sound from their amps and more headroom. A magnificent choice for hi-fi amps because of their low distortion.

The “M” standards for military grade. These valves feature robust internal construction for longer life and a better ability to withstand shocks and bumps. This translates to a better ability to withstand the high voltages and power dissipation in hi-fi and musical instrument amps.

We test these at real amp voltages on our digital output valve tester and provide the matching data on a test certificate. Make your selection of singles, pairs or quads. A good quality replacement for RCA 7189 and EL84 valves.

Note: The EL84M is wider than the standard EL84, so make sure it will fit in your amp. Amps where the EL84M will NOT fit include:

  2. Bad Cat Amplifier Model Black Cat
  3. Marshall DSL201
  4. Marshall DSL401
  5. VOX reissue AC15
  6. Other amps with tight space constraints may have difficulty as well, so please check your amp before ordering!

★ Safety

Please make sure your amp's bias is set correctly. If not, you could hamper your tone and even limit the life of the output valves. Also note that valve amps can retain high voltages even after being switched off. If you are not sure of fitting your valves, please seek the services of qualified personnel.
