We have created this special Marshall JCM900 Tung Sol Valve Kit in response to requests from our professional JCM900 users.
The JCM900 is an unusual Marshall amp, as some versions use American 5881 output valves (included here), while others use EL34 valves. Please check your amp to determine the output valve type. If you see a sticker on the back or on the chassis saying the amp must have 5881 valves, do not fit EL34s unless you want to change some resistors too. We also offer a kit with Tung Sol EL34B valves.
This kit uses Tung Sol valves because of their warm tone, perfect for Marshall amps. We get superb customer feedback on these valves.
Each kit includes:
- Two Tung Sol 12Ax7s
- One matched/balanced Tung Sol 12AX7 for the phase splitter position (includes test certificate)
- Four carefully matched Tung Sol 5881s matched for anode current and Gm (also with test certificate).
Tung Sol tests their valves in accordance with USA Dept. of Defense Military Standard 213 Rev D for tubes.

Please set the bias in your amp when changing output valves. We want to ensure the 5881 valves sound their best and do not overheat. Incorrect bias can diminish tone and shorten output valve service life.
